Day 1:   Overnight flight from Charlotte to Venice, Italy

Day 2:   Upon arrival in Venice we will take a water taxi to our hotel, check in and spend a little time exploring the city.

Day 3:  Our day begins with a walking tour of Venice led by our personal, local guide; highlights of our day  will include San Marco Piazza, Doges Palace and a gondola ride through the canals of Venice. Dinner is provided tonight

Day 4:  After breakfast we will board a high speed train to Florence.  Upon arrival we will check into our hotel and then take a walking tour of Medieval Florence led by our local guide. Dinner tonight is provided at a local Florentine restaurant.

Day 5:  Our adventure continues today as we board our personal coach to San Gimignano, a scenic hilltop town in Tuscany. After ambling through the narrow streets, doing a bit of shopping, sampling  local foods, including a  light lunch, we will  continue onto Pisa where we will see the Leaning Tower of Pisa (assuming the tower has not yet fallen) and the beautiful Cathedral and Baptistery.

Day 6:  Today we will  visit 3 picturesque towns along Cinque Terre.  These small towns are nestled on the edge of the Mediterranean Sea and are connected by railroad.  We will spend the day walking through these quaint towns, doing a little shopping, and enjoying the local cuisine.  We will return to Pisa in time for a leisurely dinner on our own.

Day 7:  This morning we travel on our personal coach from Pisa down the scenic coast road to Rome.  As we drive along the Tyrrhenian coastline we will travel through several small villages off the beaten tourist trail.  Upon arrival in Rome we will check into our hotel and begin a short walking tour of several iconic sights near our hotel.  Dinner on our own.

Day 8:  Today we begin our tour of Rome led by our personal local guides which include The Roman Colosseum and Forum, The Trevi Fountain (bring three coins), The Spanish Steps, and my favorite, The Pantheon. Dinner on our own.

Day 9:  Today we will tour Vatican City, including  St. Peters Basilica and the Sistine chapel. The afternoon is free to relax, or explore more of Rome.   Dinner is provided tonight

Day 10:  This morning we take a short break from sightseeing to learn a little bit about Italian food.  In fact, you will do more than learn, you will actually prepare an Italian meal.  Under the direction of a real chef you will thoroughly enjoy preparing, cooking and eating a typical Italian meal. After relaxing a bit, the rest of the day is your time to do whatever you want.  Of course, we will be there to help you with suggestions.  There is so much to see!

Day 11:  We say arrivederci  Roma today and travel by coach to Naples, first stopping at Pompeii.  As you walk through the streets of Pompeii, a city  covered in ash from the eruption of Mt. Visuvius in AD 79, you can really feel what life was like in these ancient times.  Pompeii is one of my favorite places in the whole world.

Day 12: This morning we will take the ferry from Naples to Capri.  Upon arrival we will board our own chartered boat and sail around the island.  Once back at port we will ride the funicular to the top of Capri and look in amazement at this picture perfect view.  Following a provided lunch we will descend the mountain and return to our hotel in Naples.

Day 13:  Flight home
